Zimoun lives and works in Bern. His mostly site-specific installations are based on the interplay of mechanics, movement and sounds and noises generated by materials in real time. Zimoun creates delicate works of poetic playfulness in a mechanical chord - they are both simple and complex, the result of repetition and subtle deviations, of routine and chance. He often uses a large number of identical, simple mechanical elements as building blocks for his works. Based on simple and raw materials from everyday life and industry, he creates systems which, despite their underlying simplicity, often develop a seemingly organic vitality and complexity.
