Sphagnum Auriculatum

When you visit the moor, your pace slows down and your gaze glides downwards. Time and the dimension of the landscape are lost. It is precisely this state that the soundtrack of the work is intended to create in visitors. Excerpts are played from recordings of moss researchers searching the ground of the moor and identifying the plants. These snippets of conversation are played back in the Schopf and mixed with other sound sources from the moor, which were recorded on site using different types of microphones. Olga Kokcharova, born in Siberia and living in Geneva, is a musician and sound artist. She is interested in everything that can be heard. She prefers careful sound recording, but also experiments with circumstances where the recording material reaches its limits. Kokcharova utilizes multi-channel recorded sources to create an electro-acoustic composition, an improvisation, a performance or a sound installation in public space. She is inspired by linguistics and language research.
